This is a leadership position within the Department of Transportation’s District Five Office of Right of Way encompassing nine counties: Volusia, Brevard, Marion, Sumter, Marion, Lake, Seminole, Orange, and Osceola. Orange County Value Adjustment Board: Seeking Qualified Special Magistrates
The Orange County Value Adjustment Board (VAB) will be accepting applications from March 3, 2025 – April 25, 2025, for qualified attorneys and appraisers interested in serving as Special Magistrates for the 2025 VAB tax cycle. Applicants need not be a resident of Orange County.
Interested applicants must meet all requirements per Section 194.035, Florida Statutes and submit their completed applications, as well as supporting documentation, by April 25, 2025 no later than 5:00 p.m.

SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for technical work in the collection and analysis of economic, legal, physical, and sociological data in order to estimate just value in accordance with statutory provisions. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of advanced, specialized property assessment experience in a Property Appraiser’s Office. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. This position requires the ability to demonstrate moderate to advance proficiency and competency in valuing commercial real estate.
