SENIOR APPRAISER

The Property Tax Oversight Program for the State of Florida Department of Revenue has an immediate position available for a Senior Appraiser, based in the south region, available in Fort Myers, Tampa, or the Orlando field office, of the candidate’s choosing.   The ideal candidate would have at least 4 years of commercial appraisal experience, and be an active Florida State Certified General Appraiser. In lieu of a State Certified General Appraisal license, the applicant may have completed 300 hours of Florida pre-licensing training and 3000 hours of USPAP compliant commercial appraisal experience and be a Registered Trainee. Candidates must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, a strong writing ability, time management and problem-solving skills; must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. The County of Bay County, FL is seeking individuals to serve as Special Magistrates for the 2020 Value Adjustment Board.  Employees and elected or appointed officials of a taxing jurisdiction or of the state may not serve as Special Magistrates.

Bay County is seeking a licensed attorney in private practice and a member of the Florida Bar for issues of exemptions and classifications;  a state certified real estate appraiser with not less than 5 years’ experience in real property valuation for issues regarding valuation of real estate; a designated member of a nationally recognized appraiser’s organization for issues regarding valuation of tangible personal property must have at least 5 years’ experience in tangible personal property valuation. Applicants must meet the requirements of Section 194.035 F.S. and Section 12D-9.010 FAC.

Summary for Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Analyst II – Orange County Property Appraiser

This position involves the valuation of commercial real estate for ad valorem purposes through the application of standard appraisal techniques, including the sales comparison, income and cost approaches.

Must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Preferred degrees include Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or Economics.

Must have performed in the capacity of Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Analyst I for at least four (4) years OR have at least four (4) years of commercial real estate ” assessment” experience with a Property Appraiser Office, OR have at least four years (4) years of  commercial real estate “appraisal” experience. The above categories may be combined to result in a total of at least five (4) years of experience.
